Open Studio Art Tours October 26 - November 4, 2007 ART TOURS OPENING: October 26, Friday, 6pm to 8pm at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center WEST END TOUR DATES: October 27 & 28, Sat & Sun, 9am to 5pm Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, Pioneer Town, Landers, and west side of Joshua Tree November 3 & 4, Sat & Sun, 9am to 5pm east side of Joshua Tree, 29 Palms, and Wonder Valley The Open Studio Art Tours (aka Art Tours) is the Morongo Basin's largest art event and growing! In it's 6th year it is expected that more than 100 artists will participate from Morongo Valley to Wonder Valley. To handle the growth of the event we formed an Art Tours committee this year. We are going to start getting the word out in June and continue up to the event. Syndee Slayton has come on board as our Public Relations manager and she is dedicated to maximizing our public exposure with her experience. We are also increasing the amount of brochures, posters and postcards along with having a earlier deadline for the printed material to be ready for circulation. We want to make sure that the participating artists have plenty of time to get the posters and postcards too, so they can help pass the word! Finally, we are designing an Art Tours website that will be unveiled in early June and will be featured on all advertisements. It will showcase all participating artists with their own web page that will be made from the photos and information they supply with their completed application. If an artist already has a website then it be linked directly to their own site. The Art Tours website will also include the maps that can be printed along with history facts of the tour and information to help patrons with the self-guided tour. The Annual Morongo Basin Open Studio Art Tours is open to all member artists, galleries, and cultural art venues.
